Thalia provides psychological treatment or counseling for children over age 12, couples, families and individual adults from the Charlevoix, Petoskey and Northwest Michigan area.

 

Offering your choice of in-person or teletherapy, limited to persons age nine or older. 

 

Thalia uses an integrative therapeutic model, incorporating many theoretical perspectives and techniques to tailor treatment to individual needs.  We are all unique and therapy should never apply a fixed system to clients' singular blend of characteristics, experiences, and circumstances.

Among her resources are cognitive behavioral; object relations; solution-focused; art therapy; play therapy; reality; person-centered; dialectical behavior; family systems; integrative; Gottman method; trauma-focused; sand tray; mindfulness; narrative and other types of treatment.

Thalia sees individual adults, children over age 12, couples, and families. Appointments are usually 45 to 60 minutes long. Day and evening hours are generally available.

 

Some Examples of Adult Problems Treated:

depression, anxiety, relationship issues including communication and conflict resolution problems, adult children of alcoholics, co-dependency, physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, anger, grief and loss, divorce adjustment, and many others.

 

Some Examples of Children's Problems Treated: 

separation anxiety, school phobia, divorce adjustment, behavior problems, sibling rivalry, anger/tantrums, poor self-esteem, social skills deficiencies, depression, anxiety, adjusting to change and many more.

 

Thalia has a sub-specialty in divorce and separation-related problems, including child custody/parenting time evaluations and advice, co-parenting issues, step-family dynamics.
